Relief materials were handed over to 400 distressed families at Satyadaspur and Chandmari Ghats of G Island Plot and Gangapur, Kali Bhanga Ghat of Banshyamnagar on the 13th of this month.

It was a joint venture of ‘Banchbo’ and ‘Sodpur Club’. 25 different types of relief items including new saris, lungi, towels, drinking water and food were distributed at the relief camp on that day. The relief work was organized after two relief camps At the request of the local people and the administration, we have organized another relief camp for 150 affected families on the devastated Mausuni Island today, the 23rd.

Many have already heard of the calm sea and secluded Mausuni Island, 110 km from Kolkata, surrounded by the Chennai River on three sides and the estuary on the other. The beautiful island and its inhabitants were again devastated by the Yas’s invasion before Amfan’s damage was recovered. Today, on 23rd June, 2021, the third relief camp has been organized on this island with the cooperation of all of you. Rice, pulses, spices, chatu, readymade khichuri packets, drinking water, Amulya milk packets, biscuits, mosquito incense, cakes, towels, new dhoti and sari have been handed over to 150 families.

After two camps on the first day, some more help came in our effort.

We are going to organize our fourth relief camp on the 29th at the request of the residents of Surendranagar, another ruined island of Patharpratima. In this endeavor, we have the partner organization “Goriya Buddhist Culture Parliament”. There are currently plans to distribute relief items to 150 families. If we get more help then the number will definitely increase.

This is an attempt to ‘live’ by relying on your cooperation, so I don’t want to belittle anyone by thanking them.
