Often we termed our Sharadotsav as “Sarbojanin” meaning – it is for everyone. But is it really so? Is the form of celebration same in marginalized people also? Answer is obviously NO. For larger section of people, days of puja are similar like the passing year of day to day survival. But from the year 2002,the scenario became slightly changed with the initiative taken by our organization -“BANCHBO”, by starting of the Puja Parikrama & its rating by Street & Underpriviledged Children, who remain neglected not only by their parents but also by our society. Through this initiative, we are just trying to connect them with the main stream by giving them a feel of the pujas. Celebrities judging puja pandals is nothing new, but the judgment by these vulnerable children was really a new conception & it added a new dimension in Sharadotsav in the City of Joy. This children are treated as VIP Guests by the pujo committees, who otherwise lead a hand to mouth existence. Our children comprise of different categories like Street Children of Kolkata, Underprivileged children from our project area Patharpratima, Sundarban, from Jangalmahal, from Malda & also from different orphanages. In the year 2008 we also included Senior Citizens as well. For those elderly people puja didn’t reflect anything special to them. But after getting this sort of opportunity meaning of pujo became changed for them. Our initiative is a small endevour to give recognition & dignity to these sectors, who otherwise remain neglected in several ways. We would like to spread our effort in much bigger way that we can accommodate more number of people, with the support from all of you. We are happy that now a days several organization also take similar type of initiative. We think it’s our achievement to incorporate this sort of conception & feeling in the society.

From 2014 another new category of award is introduced in association with London’s most popular & eminent pujo organizer London Sharad Utsav in the name – “Prabaser Chokhe Desher Sera“-best pujo adjudicated by NRI’s of UK.
